Pinched is a Chrome extension that finds and tries discount codes at shop checkouts. It doesn't need an account, and it never sees your name, email, card details or delivery address.
What Pinched sends to our server
- The shop's web address (for example obdeleven.com), when you're on a page that looks like a shop basket or checkout, so we can send back that shop's codes.
- Whether each code worked, plus the saving it gave and, if it failed, the shop's error message. This keeps success rates honest for everyone.
- Codes the shop shows on its own page, with their terms, so other shoppers get them too.
- A random install ID. It's made on your computer when Pinched is installed and isn't linked to you. It stops one browser from counting twice.
Only if you say yes
When you install Pinched, it asks whether to share codes you type in yourself. This is off unless you turn it on, and you can change it any time in the Pinched toolbar menu. If it's on, a code you enter at checkout is sent with the shop's web address and the saving, so other shoppers can use it.
What Pinched never does
- On pages that aren't shops, it does nothing and sends nothing.
- It doesn't track your browsing history.
- It doesn't sell or share data with advertisers.
- It doesn't replace creators' affiliate links or take their commission.
What's stored on your computer
Your sharing choice, the random install ID, and small caches (shop icons and savings rates) so Pinched loads faster. Removing the extension deletes them.
Who handles the data
Our server runs on Render and the codes database is hosted by Supabase. Like any web server, it can see the IP address a request comes from. We don't store IP addresses with code results.
Questions or deletion requests
Email [contact email] and we'll reply. Code results aren't linked to you, but we'll help with any request.
